Agni Sadhana: The Alchemy of Fire
agni sadhana: the alchemy of fire
al-che-my : a seemingly magical process of transformation, creation, or combination.
As we emerge from the depths of winter and awaken to the potential of spring, the time has come to work with the intelligence of fire. This element works in us to burn away the blockages of mind and body that dampen our inherent luminous and inspired nature. The wisdom of the Himalayan tradition imparts practices that assist us in tapping into this vital force and supporting it to burn brighter.
Join Meg Townsend for a powerful exploration of your inner fire. The weekend will include Hatha and Restorative yoga practices infused with conscious applications of the breath, mantra, and meditation. Meg Townsend has been connecting with and exploring sacred fire for over 10 years. She is an initiate in the Sri Vidya Tantra lineage of the Himalayas, a tradition considered to be a Path of Fire. Studies with her teachers Yogarupa Rod Stryker, Liz Seidel, and Shari Friedrichsen, have taught her how to harness the power of this transformative element and her life has been immensely brightened because of this. She is proud to be a senior teacher at Amrita Yoga (her yoga home) and co-teacher of the YTT program. Meg is also a Reiki Master Teacher, Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist, and Corporate Wellness Guide at Prasada WholeBeing.
Meg loves breathing in life to its fullest potential by traveling the world, exploring her creative gifts through singing and writing, going on photography adventures, dancing in thunderstorms, and teaching yoga. She began curating and guiding international yoga retreats in 2014. It’s the aspect of her work she finds most rewarding…..seeing travelers transformed through their bold explorations of inner and outer worlds. She feels fortunate to have the opportunity to now also guide retreat experiences to her spiritual home, the Himalayan Institute, so travelers might experience the benefits of a retreat without traveling too far!
