Color

Description

Brown Gentle, Accessible to All Levels including beginners.
Green Beginner friendly, but expect a well rounded practice that may intelligently challenge the body and definitely nurture mind and spirit.
Red Intermediate to advanced studedents, expect modifications to give you a great workout. Beginners more familiar with movement welcome as modifications for postures will be given, but expect a well rounded practice that will intelligently challenge the body, inspire a deeper sense of mindful focus, and ignite the spirit.

Yin

Calm your mind and body with this relaxing floor practice. Yin yoga postures are practiced on the floor with props and held longer than traditional poses. This allows the vital force (chi or prana) of the body to become free of blockages as we work the same energy lines as acupuncture and help to stretch and tone muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia. This is a great practice for beginners who desire to open their body, people with injuries, athletes, or as a complement to more physical practices.

Aerial Yoga

Sign up for your pass to anti-gravity bliss! Join us for an hour of guided aerial yoga in this beginner/all level class.  In this class we will go over basic physical postures, how to hold the silks for transitions and static movement, experience inverting with the support of the sling, and everything else you will need to grow confidently in Aerial Yoga classes! You do not need a yoga mat.

AERIAL YOGA ETIQUETTE

To ensure we keep our aerial silks beautiful and enjoyable to everyone, we need your help! Amrita Yoga & Wellness is now enforcing the following policies in our Aerial Yoga classes at both our North and South locations:

  • Please attend class wearing a T-shirt, tank tops no longer allowed.

  • Please attend class with little to no make-up as to not soil our silks

  • Students are not to arrive to class with open wounds. Cuts, scrapes, and scabs need to be properly covered or you will be sent home and cancellation policies apply

  • Please arrive to class with clean hands, feet, and body

*Please Note: Late cancels and no shows for Aerial Yoga classes are subject to a $15 fee, plus loss of class payment.

Barre classes take a typical ballet warm-up and incorporate it with mat work, bar work and props. Barre classes mix elements of pilates, dance, yoga and functional training, and the moves are choreographed to motivating music. The class delivers a results-driven workout that is not only fun and dynamic, but it will sculpt your body and get you into absolutely amazing shape!

Candlelight Flow

Candlelight Flow rebalances mind-body and soul in a peaceful space. Enjoy a well rounded asana sequence guided by the natural rhythm of breath. The practice balances strength and flexibility with a rhythmic beginning and a calm, restorative wind down at the end.
A typical class will include a rhythmic vinyasa sequence guided by breath finished by a restorative, calming ending, and a guided meditation. All levels welcome!

Hatha Flow & Reflect

This class is designed for a more concentrated dose of yoga. A gentler approach to breath-centered movement that will move at a slower pace. This practice will create a more meditative experience and finish with guided journaling (bring your journal and a pen!). A good start for beginners and a refresher for more seasoned practitioners as we look more closely at the details of asana and life on and off the mat. All levels welcome!

Iyengar Yoga is a systematic and dynamic practice. The method shares with other styles of yoga full range of body movement, beginning with a strong foundation in the standing poses and progressively introduces seated poses, inversions, backbends, restoratives and pranayama. Props are used as teaching tools and allow every body shape, size and ability to practice safely. An emphasis is placed on precise alignment of the bones, muscles, skin, breath, etc, to lead a practitioner to an inward state of awareness and to create freedom and health in the body. Specific teaching points awaken the intelligence from gross to more subtle layers of being as you progress in the practice. This act of calling one's attention inward and away from scattered thoughts enhances concentration, reduces stress, and allows for a sense of inner peace and acceptance. We have been blessed with endlessly creative and ever-evolving sequences, pose variations and therapeutic applications from the life work and continuing practice of the living yoga master BKS Iyengar. LEVEL 1: Strong Foundational work.

Pilates Mat

Beginner class (Level I/II) is a great place to start or to reinvigorate your practice. A slower place and appropriate modifications will help you learn the exercises while increasing your strength and control. You do not need to bring your own mat for this class.

Yinyasa

We are always dealing with opposite energies within ourselves: to be active or to be receptive, to move or be still, to be energetic or calm, to look inward or look outward. This class lets us explore all these parts or ourselves! Join us for a radiantly calming blend of Yin (longer, passive held postures) and slow flow Vinyasa (rhythmic, breath centered movement) to cultivate a practice that balances out your opposing energy forces! This class is suitable to students of all levels.

Amrita Flow 1/2/3

A non-heated style of yoga . In this moderately paced class we will focus on linking breathe with movement and alignment. Foundational postures will set stage to explore more deeply into all asana. This class will clearly break down asana variations suitable to all levels to support students in building strength, grace, and flexibility. This conscious flow style class is designed to restore radiant health and balance back to the body while developing a calm, peaceful mind.

Infrared Hot Flow

A dynamic, heated style of yoga accessible to students of all levels. Come move with your breath in this flow style class that is practiced in a room heated to 95 degrees using our state of the art, Far Infrared Heating System. This powerful and precise source of heat will penetrate the body to open muscles and nourish connective tissues. Benefits also include acceleration of healing to muscular injury, increase of circulation and treatment of high blood pressure. The result, a fun and challenging class that is guaranteed to make you sweat while creating deep and profound openings in the body and spirit.
PLEASE NOTE: This class is a contraindication for anyone who is pregnant or has a pace maker. Students with hardware in their body must take class with caution.
